Last year I purchased a Remington 750 from Gander Mountain in Roanoke, VA along with a Leupold scope. The scope was mounted by the tech at Gander Mountain and supposedly bore-sighted to verify the installation.

The following month at the rifle range, sighting in the scope, it would not sight in and left short about 4 feet of the target at max setting. I took the rifle back and they said that it was the scope and they swapped the Leupold for a Nikon. Visibly annoyed at my issue, again, they said that this would take care of the problem. My mistake for trusting them.

I could kick my own butt for letting them off the hook so easily. I did not make it back to the range until this month and again, same problem only worse. I went back to the store and was told to contact Remington, it is a problem with the rifle. I sent the rifle back to Remington and they stated that the receiver was miscut and many degrees off and they have yet to decide what to do about it.

The fact is that Gander never bore sighted the rifle, verified the registration on the scope, lied to me, and let me leave TWICE with a defective rifle. Fully knowing that I had a bad situation with this scope and rifle. Remington stated that it may take two months to get my rifle back, I am still waiting, so I am going to have to buy or borrow another rifle to use this season. Crummy service, defective products, and lousy moody lairs at Gander Mountain in Roanoke, VA.

I'll never purchase another firearm from them. When the Remington 750 gets back from the factory, it will be traded for something decent with proper customer service and backing.

Reason of review: Lying employees.

Monetary Loss: $1000.

Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
