Went to their store in o'fallon Il for a sale they were having. Took their flyer from the newspaper with me to assist with my purchase. Got everything I wanted and great help from the man at the gun counter. Waited awhile to speak to someone, but when I was filling out paperwork for the firearm he went and got the other items I wanted. Even got another box of 22 shorts when it said one to a customer. Was very pleased.

GANDER MOUNTAIN LOST A CUSTOMER! They offered a Buy one Get one free on a St. Croix spinning rod. I tried to place my order online but it would not accept the offer. I went into CHAT help and they said it is posted in error. I asked if they would honor the advertised deal. A resounding "NO" was the answer I received. I saved my chat logs which they admit to the rod being advertised as a BOGO. So it was my tough luck spending almost an hour trying to figure out why the deal would not finalize. CABELA'S WOULD HAVE HONORED THEIR ADVERTISED PRICE!

They would not honor the Buy one get one free after spending over an hour initially with ordering and customer service. Then they came back and said we will not honor the Buy one get one as it was advertised.

They offered me 15% then 25% off the new rod.

I said keep it. I will go with vendors that stand behind their advertised deals.

They will sell you something with out knowing if its in stock or not. They look in there computer and it says its in stock when its not. You order it and 2 hours later you recieve an e-mail that your order has been cancelled. Never by any expensive item from and pay cash like a gun. They make you purchase a gift card for cash to make the purchase. Then when the order is cancelled. You have to wait for them to send you a gift card in the mail, bring it back to the store to get your money back, which takes 7 to 10 days. I've bought alot of things at other stores for cash including guns which I paid cash for and always got paid back cash on the spot when I returned it. I can understand if you buy it on a credit card they credit you back right away. If you pay by check I understand you have to wait for the check to clear before you get a refund. But when you pay cash for something your refund should be on the the spot, as every company I've delt with in the past have done. Shame on you Gander Mountain and your corperate leaders for such a rotten return policy when it comes to a cash purchase.

A really nice hunting pack was bought for me by my mother-in-law for my birthday from Gander Mountain. The strap on it broke as I was hiking in the mountains on a hunting trip. My mother-in-law couldn't find the receipt for it. I thought, no big deal, I'm sure they'll still replace it. They wouldn't want to lose a lifetime customer over one backpack right?!?! WRONG!!! They told me they saw the purchase under my mother-in-law's name onlline so they would replace the pack.... I had to pay for shipping to ship my broken pack to them (unacceptable) and they sent me an incorrect backpack to replace it that was much cheaper and lower quality. I called customer service and the woman (Heather Williams) was extremely rude and said there is nothing they can do unless I can get my mother-in-law to find a receipt for proof-of-purchase. So now I have NO RECEIPT AND THEY HAVE MY BROKEN BACKPACK!!! I had no proof that I owned this pack anymore so I wrote an email to customer service complaining about the mix-up and gave them 2 options 1) send me back my broken pack so i have proof that i own it 2) send me the CORRECT replacement backpack. THEY CHOSE OPTION 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of place sends a customer their broken item back instead of replacing it????? In that email I also told Heather to forward it to her supervisor and I specifically requested confirmation from that supervisor that they were aware of the situation. It has been 2 days since I received a reply from Heather saying that she sent it to her supervisor, so two days since the supervisor got my email AND STILL NO RESPONSE!!!!! I used to shop there all the time, and just last year my father-in-law bought me a rifle from there that was $800. I can tell you that I'll never shop there again and this is just one of many stops on several blogs to share my experience.

Gander Mountain customer service does suck! I just spent 15 minutes on hold with no end in sight.

Ordered online and they promised merchandise would ship in 5 days.

Then received e-mail that it wont ship for more than 2 months and you can't cancel order. Won't buy from them again.

Well obviously they didnt have another one of those packs, you cant blame them for selling out of an item! They would have returned your $ if your mil hadnt have lost the receipt, so they didnt do anything wrong here that i can see!
