Gander Mountain - Backordered item kept being delayed for almost two months
I placed an order on 9/10/2013 for a few sale items that were on backorder. I was willing to wait a few weeks for the order to be shipped. In fact, I received an email notification on 9/15 with an expected shipping date of 9/25 which was great, but no shipment. Another email on 9/28 with an expected shipping date of 10/10, and another on 10/12 with a date of 10/14, and finally a email on 10/26 with an expected shipping date of 11/4. This isn't an expectable way to do business! I called to state my disapproval and was told it was a supplies problem, Avery Greenhead Gear. Really? And in fact I was told they hadn't received a shipment from the supplier since July. I asked them how they in good conscious could continue to accept order for this item under the current circumstances. Shouldn't they temporarily make the item unavailable until the situation was resolved? I guess not! Being dissatisfied with the response, I canceled the order (should have don't it a lot sooner), and will never again purchase an item from Gander Mountain. There're plenty of other outdoor sporting good companies out there.
I hope this makes others aware of the process when purchasing items that are on backorder. At least the inept process followed at Gander Mountain.
