Extremely rude, inept, and condescending employees at the North Charleston, SC. I was in the shoe department for 10 minutes and the employee helped everyone except for me. The cashier was rude and could not even tell me the original price of the "clearance" shoes.

Gander Mountain - Poor service, Employees were virtually useless

When visiting the Gander Mountain store in Sterling Heights Michigan on, I believe it was Tuesday December 30th 2014 and then again on January 5th 2015, I was astounded by the performance and lack of professionalism of the elderly gentleman that worked in the firearms area of the store. They moved at a snail's pace with absolutely no ambition. I left the store on Tuesday thinking I would come back another day when there were no, or less people in the store. To my amazement, it was even worse the evening of January 5th when there were very few people in the store. I took a number after asking the men if they were using the number system, they said yes they were. About an hour later I realized they were not taking numbers but were in a kind of daze taking about two or three customers in front of me. During this time they did not call any numbers at all. In addition, they moved like snails as they put more attention to discussing the day's events than doing their job. It was almost like I was in another dimension where time and space stood still and the inhabitants of the dimension were brainwashed zombies that had no sense of purpose. I could not believe my eyes. Either these employees were senile or they were complete idiots. I do not believe they were idiots. I have never in my entire life seen anything like it. After one of the 2 men disappeared for about a half hour I decided to leave the items I had in my hands and go up to the service counter to explain my discontent to the manager. After a so called younger manager finally came to my aid, he only proved to me that this store was filled with the same type and attitude that manned the firearms area. But he did move a lot quicker. By the way, I have nothing against senior citizens as I am a senior citizen, just slightly younger than the old fools that manned the firearms counter. But I do move much faster and have a much better work ethic than what I experienced in this store. If you do not believe me, go and see for yourself. Just do not send a good looking girl into the store as one was waited on before me. You will not believe your eyes.

Rifle Review

I was called a *** cause i wanted my rifle to be fixed or a refund. Keepin mind I have never shot the rifle. It wouldn't extract the first bullet I chambered. They seem like they don't want to stand behind their products. I wouldn't incorage anyone to purchase a firearm from a company like this.

Talked to the cashier today and he said the manager buys up all the ammo as it comes in stock off the trucks. Shouldn't have told me that! I've had my fair share of bad experiences at this store.

Lying seems to be their strongpoint! | Gander Mountain review

Went to store on Quebec St. Ft Worth, TX. On a Friday. Wanted to order a gun found at another store and have shipped there, was told they didn't do that (lie 1). Ordered one from them, told it would be there by Monday (lie 2). Tuesday I called customer service, won't arrive until Friday, you will get an email when shipped (lie 3). Went to pick up gun, not shown during checkout, carried out of store by employee, then I got to look at it, not the gun I ordered. Went back in, the gun item # matched the gun I wanted, but it was not what I received. Was told customer service would call Monday after they contact there third party supplier. Guess what? No call Monday (lie 4). When I called on Tuesday, got a very rude Aaron May at customer service who advised me that the info was correct on there end, guns match description and I must have looked incorrectly. I walked out of the store with it, so therefore it is my problem. When I looked on line, the pics had been changed for the item numbers. He advised that IF I had any proof of otherwise, I could email the info and they would look into it. Ummmm, two employees at the store saw the info and pics, why am I being treated as the liar? Come to find out, yes they do the info for guns to be ordered from someone else and shipped to the store. Will never do business with them again. All my friends will be advised of there lying policies. Gander mountain is just wrong on so many levels with this transaction. I am stuck with a gun that I did not order in the first place because I did what they told me to. WRONG!!!

Just received a call from Brian (the firearms manager he said) at the store on Quebec. Per him the website had not been updated since 2011, the gun that I was wanting is not available anymore.

Well, what a surprise! He said that the notes at the main office show where someone called me yesterday and spoke to me...lies continue...never got a call from them, I CALLED THEM!!!! He said he was very sorry that this happened, but there is nothing he can do to change the situation. WOW!

Do they actually have customers that are happy with that?

The lack of compassion and care is what irritates me the most! This is not over!!!

Paid safe deal waiting for two months | Gander Mountain review from Dickson City, Pennsylvania

I went to your store in Dickson city,Pa and I bought a safe for a fair price at 320.and change and first the associate that sold the safe was the manager and sold me the wrong one. Brought it home took it out realized that it was not the one I wanted. So me and my brother went back to the store at the Dickson city location and we brought it in and wanting to exchanged it, and it was not in stock. So I waited for two months now and still no response I want to be compensated please, I shop at your stores all the time I have a membership card and use it all the time. So please ask your manager to order it for me,and the safe was not a Christmas present im shopping there more for the Holidays. Thank you, John j Thiel.....

That the *** do you want to be "compensated" for??? I'm sure you got your money back so what's with the hand out for compensation??

People like you are he reason why retail workers are "rude". FYI customers are not always right.

Our city/town just "gained" a gander mnt. This store is relevantly close to Bass Pro, which is their competition.

I just visited gander mnt and have to say they have HORRIBLE customer relations. I looked at firearms for approximately 10 mins, with at least 3 other customers and not one of 5 employees behind the counters even acknowledged any of us.

Needless to say, my business will be taken else where. Hate it bc I really wanted to see the store do well, must be why there were only about 20 customers in the store....
